Neglect with a newborn...
Our cat, Star, used to be our only child and she is really feeling neglected with Mason around. She used to hate to be covered with the bed sheets, paper, blankets, towels, etc...
The other day Britt got out of bed to get Mason a bottle and she threw the bed sheets over the sleeping cat on the foot of the bed. Needless to say the cat didn't even budge! Later that day I came home from work and Britt had bathed Mason and left his towel on his floor. Star had laid down on it and was "out", so I took the towel and stretched it around her. As you can see in the picture, she couldn't care less because she was content that she was getting some attention!
And here is another picture of the starved cat wanting more of my attention as I'm finishing feeding Mason.

Mason's Blessing
They may be late but at least they are here now!
Mason was blessed on October 19th and these are some pictures of his outfit prior to the blessing. The blue blanket was hand made by his Great-Aunt Neala Perez.
He is such a handsome boy!
PS. I really like blogger so that I can set a different Post date and time and it looks like this was posted on the day it happened! hehe

Instructions NOT Included!
As new parents we find ourselves trying many different things in order to make Mason happy. Granted that he is such a great kid, we always feel that we are doing something wrong.
Mason threw up tonight and it just scares you to watch him and only think that he is doing it because of something we have done!
This onesie says it all!
We also stopped by Mason's Great-Great-Grandma Burningham. She has such a great memory. She remembers the names of all of her grandchildren!
And here he is playing with his mom. He really likes playing with you when he has finished his meals!

Pure Entertainment!
We purchased an older 50" Plasma from my parents this weekend. We have needed a good TV for our entertainment room and this is AWESOME! We watched conference on it and the sound is amazing!
I also found out that we are born with the skill of falling asleep when conference is on. (Note: Mason is showing me how to sleep!)

Lullabye Time!
The other day I was looking for a sound clip of the Lullaby that plays at LDS Hospital every time that a baby is born. I was going to use it on our new doorbell that I built! I was searching all over the internet and couldn't find one that was close enough to it that I liked. However I did find something much better than that! If you haven't done so already click the link of this Post and you will see what I'm talking about!
I think that these are the coolest thing ever for a baby! Our kid is going to be sooo cool! Rockabye Baby Lullaby Renditions of "Rock Artists!" Our kid is going to be falling asleep to Legends like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Bob Marley, etc...
If you have never heard of these then you need to check them out! I love them! I'll be putting our boy to sleep every night as long as we can listen to these lullaby's!
Enjoy!

Smoking Barrel
I know this is a long story but it is well worth it!
Saturday was a fun day for me. I went as a County Delegate to our County Convention to place my vote for out State Senator and County Commissioner. After the meeting I headed home to work on our basement.
For those of you who are familiar with the weather here will attest that Saturday was a nice warm day. As an old co-worker would say "One of the 9 days in Utah that you can role down your window.". So I did just that as I was driving home. Unfortunately for me I got stopped by a train with a police car in front of me. As I'm enjoying my music and the nice warm weather I get this overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke! I notice that the police officer in front of me is puffing away at his cigarette. This bothered me enough that I had to roll up my windows! (I wasn't happy about that because as you know the trains can take a while to pass and I'm stuck in my car now with my windows up now!) With this making me a little upset I started wagering with myself, "I bet that cop is going to drop that cigarette butt out the window and litter.". Having a new phone with a "camcorder" built in I decided to try to record to see if he drops it or not. Well, the train passed and the railroad arms raised. We started to proceed across the tracks when I watch as he drops the butt out the window! I was pissed now! So I honked my horn in one of those ways that he would know that I saw what he just did.
Just after the railroad tracks he pulls off to the side of the road onto the dirt and as I passed I gave him "The Look" included with the look was the raise of the arms in disgust. Personally I was hoping that he would pull out behind me and pull me over. Instead he just stayed there on the side of the road.
Seeing this I decided to turn around. I parked my car across the street from him and rolled down my window. I let him have it! "Are you going to go back there and pick up that cigarette butt that you dropped out of your window?" I said. He then replies with a "What?" as he realizes that I've just seen him litter. So, I reiterated the question "Are you going to go back and pick up the cigarette butt you dropped out of your window?" He replies with a very upset "yeah". I then asked him "Can I give you a ticket for littering?" He replies with the question "Have you been ticketed for littering?" With which I replied with my own question "Do I have to have one in order to give one?" He ignores the question and asks "Move so I can turn around?" I replied "I'm not moving, I can stay right here as long as I'd like." (Mind you I'm parked on one side of the road and he's on the other.)
He then proceeds to turn his car around (U-Turn on a double yellow line) and crosses the railroad tracks and again another illegal U-turn on the other side of the tracks. I followed him and drove further down the road and made a legal U-turn and parked far back from where he had parked. He got out of his car and stood in the door way and proceeded to look around in a way that I can tell that he has no idea as to where he had dropped the cigarette. I then got out of my car and sat on the hood of my car. I let him gaze around for a little and then I asked him "Would you like me to come show you where it's at?", again he replies with an embarrassed "yeah." So I walked up past his police car up to the railroad tracks and stood in the road next to the butt with my arm extended and my finger pointing at the butt. The officer then came walking over and bent down to pick it up.
I read his name badge, M. Boyle, and said "Thank you Mr. Boyle!" to which he replied, embarrassed again, "No, thank you.". I then returned along side of him to his car and noticed that he was an office of the "North Salt Lake City Police Force". I stated "Oh, North Salt Lake Police." and asked "What's your badge number?" to which he replied "North Salt Lake, November 15." I replied as I extended my hand, "Well, I don't know if you know who I am but my name is Marc Schaefermeyer, your mayor Shanna Schaefermeyer's son?" To which he refused to shake my hand and entered his vehicle.
I returned to my car and drove home and worked in my basement.
When I told Britt about the story she simply stated, in disgust I might add, "I can't believe you would do that!"
I just have to state that all though this officer might not get punished for his action he will undoubtedly think about this every time he drops a cigarette butt out of his window.

Neal Schaefermeyer line!
My grandfather has only two grandsons that can carry on the Schaefermeyer name. Those two happen to be my brother and I. Last week Britt and I found out that our first child will be a BOY! We are so extatic about this! The due date is Sept 17! We are scurring to get everything ready (ie. The never ending basement project) and also "names"!
I honestly never thought that picking a name would be this hard. If you have any names that you are willing to share we are more than willing to listen!
I will be posting more later...

The Good and Bad of Google!
I LOVE Google! They make great things! (Google Earth, maps.google.com, Blogger, Webhosting, etc...)
But they just put me under the foot of my wife!
You see... We have lived in our home for more that 2 years now. I have been a great husband and have mowed the lawn at our house every time, except once! ONCE!
One time last year I was working hard on the garden, Britt decided that she would help me out and start mowing the lawn. Mind you that I say "start" because she finished the front and side, I finished the back. Well... it just happens that Google being so great and all they decide to drive by the house and take pictures for their "Street View" on maps.google.com!
Thanks GOOGLE!
I appreciate that you have proof of the ONE time for the whole World to see!

Retraction: Google is really cool now! They have "Retracted" our neighborhood from their "Street View" therefore eliminating the ability to view this Fun Picture.
If you would like to see it again you can put in another request for them to add it to their maps by submitting a change here. http://mapinsight.teleatlas.com/mapfeedback/index.php

More Traveling...
What a fun time the last couple of weeks have been! We went to San Diego on the Company Retreat. While we were down there we drove up to LA to go see "Wicked"! This is one of the best plays that I have seen! San Diego is where Britt and I went on our Honeymoon (4 years ago)! We had our anniversary on March 11th!
Then only a couple of days later we packed the bags and headed back to Nashville! We had to use our free flights to go somewhere so we (I) chose to go back to Music City USA.
Nashville is a happening little city. We attended the Grand Ole Opry, Contry Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium, Opry Mills, and many more places! Carrie Underwood played Saturday night at the Grand Ole Opry and we were there when Randy Travis made a guest appearance to ask Carrie to be the next member of the Opry!
We were also able to attend a recording of the CMT TV show called "Can You Duet"! This was fun because we were able to see Naomi Judd, Rossi Morreale, Six Wire (the band), and the six finalist duets. Also among all of that we were fortunate enough to sit next to and talk a little with the Producers of the show as well!
All in all this was a really fun trip!
You can read more of this and see the pictures over here.

Fiber to the Node!
I was excited to receive an email from the Mayor of Woods Cross concerning the Planning Commission. It stated the following,
"The Council also hear a report that Qwest Communications had proposed to bring "fiber to the node" to several areas of the City that currently do not have internet/cable tv services (Field Crest, Cahoon Meadows, parts of the Clover Dale subdivision) during their current 2008 build year. No final date had been determined but Qwest committed to provide the service this year."
I know that the city was in communications with Utopia. I would much rather have the Fiber run to my home from Utopia versus Qwest, but either way we will finally have High Speed Internet! And by the sounds of it we should have it by the end of this year!

You're trailing off and did I catch a nine'er in there? Were you calling from a walkie talkie?

No! This is NOT a picture of you!
I'm sorry but this has been an issue the last few days and it makes me laugh!
There is a virus going around that will take 50 of your MSN Messenger contacts and IM them an IM with a link stating "Is this a picture of you?" or "Is that you in this picture?". When people click on the link it takes them to some site where it downloads a .dll and then overrides there MSN Messenger with a new one that uses the new .dll file. When this happens it then starts over and sends the link to the 50 new contacts from the newly infected machine!
I have hated MSN Messenger and never thought that it was very secure! I loved seeing this virus because so many people use the defaults of what they get! Honestly, How many people have msn as their homepage?
Now that you know the details behind the virus... here's a funny story to go with it!
I found out about this virus on Monday night at work. A lady clicked on it and was like "I clicked on it because it was from [so and so]". So I fixed her computer. Then in our weekly IT meeting I made mention to everyone to "NOT click on the link!" Well not more then 20 minutes later one of the IT members that sits across from me says, "Crap I just clicked on it!" as he ran around his computer to unplug his network cable. I asked him, "What?". He replied "I just clicked on the link! It was from my friend Dan." I flipped out! "What the hell! Were you not listening to me in the meeting!" Then all I could do was laugh at him because of how dumb it was! Needless to say it didn't harm his computer because we use <a title="Free operating system? Come on Microsoft! FREE!!!" Ubuntu.
So now that you have read this you have been warned! "No! This is NOT a picture of you!"

Israel 2006... (Catching up on the posts...)
This is the picture we used for our Christmas Cards last year.
I really love this picture.
I can't explain how great an experience it was for us to visit the Holy
Land!
It has changed our whole view on the scriptures!
